Legendary rock saxophonist Clarence Clemons died Saturday of complications from a stroke, bandmate Bruce Springsteen said.

Dr. Bruce Springsteen. Great reporting.

Clemons played on such classic hits as "Born to Run" and "Thunder Road" and is widely credited with helping to shape Springsteen's sound.

At least according to the county coroner.

Too bad for Clarence. I'm a big Bruce fan, and Clarence always added some nice depth to the sound.

Very sad news today. I'm a big Springsteen fan and was lucky enough to see him 4 times in concert back in the early 80's. Great shows with the big man kicking ass every time he cranked out his sax. RIP Clarence. Have fun jammin with everyone in rock n roll heaven.
