OT: Bad day

Sad day coming up today. I'm at my brothers house in Maine. My mother just had 6 surgeries in 2 weeks to try to fix an intestinal problem, but they couldn't fix it. She is on life support right now and today the family is getting together to say our last words and say goodbye, then we're removing the life support (her wishes before the surgeries), as it's the only thing keeping her alive. That's why I really haven't been on lately. Just thought I would let all my great friends here know what's going on. It hasn't really hit me yet, but will in a few hours.

Wayne, it truly is a tough thing to go through, but take comfort in the fact that you are doing what's best for your mother in honoring her wishes in this difficult time. You have friends here who are always available to talk to. My condolences go out to you and your family.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. We were informed yesterday that after life support was removed, it could be as long as a week. Really tough to take right now.
