WTF, seriously? Do I really have to deal with my wife watching another one of these things... at least she'll be happy with no hockey this year :(

Bear Mountain love shack for Bachelor Canada

25 women vie for the heart of ex-CFL player Brad Smith.

LOL, who?

Filmed here in Victoria apparently, so at least there is that.

$50 says a dream date is a "cruise" on BC Ferries.

/ isn't that Len Barrie's old place?

lol - Nothing like a 3 sailing wait for a Departure Bay ferry.

/Qualicum Beach/Tofino/Ucuelet should factor prominently in this production.

When will they run out of ideas for these mind numbing reality shows? Probably never because for some reason they are very popular it's just too bad in todays make believe world people will soon not know the difference between these asinine shows and real life.

I know if there is a demand for them they will keep flooding the air with them but frankly I don't get it.

That and they're cheaper to make than scripted shows. That's why networks love sticking this crap on all channels all day and night.

I'm the only woman I know who doesn't watch any of that shit. Can't stand the Bachelor, Bachelorette, American Idol or none of it. Steven Tyler being a judge (and I am a HUGE Aerosmith fan) couldn't get me to watch that shit.

higgy It seems like they appeal more to women than men. Do you think that's a fair statement? Not trying to be sexist but curious and I'm glad to hear you don't watch that shit either. Also your point that they are cheaper to produce is very true.

Yes, that's a fair statement. My female friends all watch at least American Idol. Most of them watch those Bachelor shows too, and my sister was watching the Kardashian sisters yesterday. :yuck:

I do watch one reality show once in awhile, Gene Simmons Family Jewels. His son Nick cracks me up, lol.

TV, much like music, is all about how can we make this cheap and get the most profit in return? Whatever you put out there consumers will watch/listen to. Reality TV costs very little because you're not paying writers or actors. Pop music you don't have to worry as much about studio/recording costs and you don't have to pay an entire band. As a result you get very watered down, simplistic forms of entertainment.
