Milos out in first round down under.
Denis moves on

Milos looked like a guy who hadn't played tennis in about 4 months - When you're not blessed with speed to begin with and you're not match fit, it can be easily exposed as it was yesterday.

/Genie won as well.

Good to see Genie get a win. She has Halep next which could be tough but best of luck to her.

To bad to see Nestor go, could he be, next to Raonic, the best men's Canadian tennis player ever? I think so.

Genie eliminated by Halep (quite easily I should add). There's quite a chasm between Halep and Bouchard at the moment.

In that one of them actually knows how to play tennis?

Biggest issue right now is consistency, you see occasional flashes of good tennis from Genie, but just way too many unforced errors, especially on the forehand side. I would say another big weakness in her game is her second serve, if she doesn't get her first serve in, that second serve is just a puff ball that opponents can just hammer on and often times, it's a clean winner or leads to an easy point.

A lot of upsets at the Aussie Open - Rafa forced to retire in the fifth set against Cilic, Djoker got beat by young Hyeon Chung of South Korea, only constant is Federer cruising right along.

Doubles flies under the radar and mixed doubles even more so, but Canadian Gabriela Dabrowski and her mixed doubles partner are in the Aussie Open final on Saturday night. Go Gaby Go!

Congrats to Federer. 20 major wins is awesome. Showing no signs of slowing down either.

Canada and Croatia ties at 1-1 after day one of the Davis Cup tie - Vasek lost, but Denis won.

Back in 2011, she was ranked #38 in in the world, however she battled depression and stepped away from competitive tennis. She's back now and playing well.
