Why did they resurface the courts at Wimbledon? They've completely ruined the tournament. Wimbledon was unique. Now it's just like the other grand slam tournaments. Everyone just stands behind the baseline & hits the ball. Nobody knows how to volley anymore.

I think improved racquet technology is the main culprit. Maybe we should make the players go back to using wooden racquets?

The racquets are probably part of it, but with the old surface players didn't always get a true bounce which made it tougher to hit the ball from the baseline. Players were forced to serve & volley. Now it looks like they're playing on synthetic turf, every bounce is the same.
