Absolute marathon match between Nadal and Thiem last night, Thiem certainly has his chances, but Rafa prevailed in the end.
Women's tennis is going to be a much better spectacle when Serena is no longer around.
Osaka kicked her ass and all anybody's talking about is her bitching and moaning and "sexism" cries. The only one being treated unfairly is the 20 year old who owned her ass today.
Maybe the game penalty was a bit harsh, but Serena did himself no favors with continuing to berate the umpire. Did she actually think the game penalty was going to rescinded? Also, ESPN needs to put away the Serena pom-poms, that was a very one-sided broadcast by the on-air crew.
Literally saying "It wasn't the result we were hoping for".
Osaka is already 1000x more likeable than Serena. She has a history of this shit. I don't get why it's all on the umpire here.
Because he was clearly sexist by picking on one of the two females in the match. Duh.
Well we all know what she really wanted to pin it on but claiming racism would be pretty hard when your opponent is a half-black half-Japanese.
She's just an asshole and another example of why you don't build cults of worship around celebrities.
I think Serena got exactly what she wanted, everybody is talking about how the umpire supposedly jobbed her and nobody is talking about how she got blown off the court by a 20 year old in her first grand slam final.
Edit: Kind of what BBB said above, but definitely worth repeating lol
Milos in three sets and Denis comes back from two sets down to win in five to give Canada a 2-0 lead in Davis Cup play against the Dutch boys.
I didn't know they re-named Ricoh until I saw this.
One new arena name was enough to try to remember damnit.
Rebecca Marino won her 5th ITF title of 2018 last week in Lubbock, Texas and is now ranked #186 on the WTA tour which makes her the 2nd highest ranked Canadian (only Genie Bouchard is ranked higher). This tweet sums up a remarkable year for Rebecca:
Tennis updates from across the pond - Vasek tops Milos in Antwerp and Denis dispatches Peter Polansky in Stockholm. Also, Genie is playing some of her best tennis of the year and advances in Luxembourg.

Had to go through three rounds of qualifying just to make the main draw. The 18 year old is having an incredible week.
