NIAGARA FALLS -- A land, air and water search for a man who jumped off the Rainbow Bridge this morning was called off after three hours.

City and State Parks police, and U.S. Customs and Border Patrol officers joined the search about 11 a.m., after two motorists headed into the United States from Canada said they saw the man amble over the bridge railing.

The witnesses described the man as white and in his 40s, balding and with a large build. He was wearing glasses and a New York Yankees baseball jacket. No other pedestrians were near him as he jumped, the witnesses told officers.
