Funny story. So, I work for a chiropractor, and she's in her early 40's, and her secretary is in her early 70's. I was in to do some cleaning around the office, and the doctor comes in with an email she printed from home (we don't have wifi in the office because my boss is crazy and hates the internet apparently) from a church friend who is also friends with her secretary. It's an older lady. Anyway, the email was along the lines of "RE: Sad News..." and went on to explain how they were travelling in Spain, got mugged, and everything but their passports were taken (including phones), and they needed money to pay off the hotel bill (amounted to over $7k), and asked for it to be wired to them. So, they're sitting there talking about it while I'm in a storage room organizing, trying not to laugh as they call the church office to ask about it. Meanwhile, they haven't tried contacting this lady. So I pop out and say "Um, don't you think it could be a scam?" They both pause as if this never crossed their minds. So they call the lady's cell phone and she's like "Oh, no worries, just a hacked email account!" Oh older people. My boss was sincerely going to find a way to send money. She was hesitant to use her credit card for overseas stuff, thank God...

I had a coworker that had the exact same thing happen to them. I am probably an ass because when I saw the message my first thought was 'looks like Summer is stuck in France.'
