My buddy gave me his old 60" TV that's a POS so I have it in the man cave, this is not a smart TV so I have a Fire Stick on it with all the apps. Being a POS I wanted it specifically in the garage with all the dust, critters, whatever.

Watched a YT tutorial on jail breaking it and did that this weekend, holy crap did I unlock a bunch of stuff including Apple TV which I didn't have so I watched the first two episodes of Ted Lasso last night, kind of a funny show.

Also was able to watch all 7 episodes of Hijack which was pretty good.

I've been watching Blindspot on Netflix, only 5 episodes in but it's pretty entertaining so far.

There's a new Casey Anthony docuseries on Netflix I believe, watched that last week. Still don't buy her innocence but it gives a different view. Hard to believe it's been 15+ years since that tragedy.

Even harder to believe it's been 20 years since the disappearance of Natalee Holloway in Aruba and still nothing.

Patrice O'Neill has a bit on Natalie Halloway on his Elephant in the Room special. Can't believe how long he's been dead either. I'll binge his clips on YouTube sometimes. But if you're cool with dark comedy, he was amazing. Especially that special.

This clip is from his special. Racial stuff not for everyone. Natalie Halloway bit.

Funny stuff. Never heard of him but like his humor. That dark stuff doesn't offend me at all, it's supposed to be a shock value and funny. I'm half white half middle eastern and crack up at jokes geared my way. Humor is an amazing way to lighten the mood and make people relax a bit, need more of that in this world we live in no matter how offensive it is.

Side note, MH370 has absolutely sucked me in from day 1. That plane disappeared March 2014 and still nothing. I've gone down so many rabbit holes on that one it's nuts. You're telling me military satellites, multiple air control towers, radar have no idea where that plane went? Not buying it. I've watched just about every documentary on it.

Not saying there is some nefarious thing, I do believe it was a plane crash. But to not have any idea where this plane is 11 years later is just unbelievable. This one has ruined many a night's sleep when I'm on my phone and trying to sleuth where this thing is.

My gut tells me they will "find it" in the next 2 years.

Patrice O'Neal and Bill Burr were best friends. Burr does his benefit show every year and gives all proceeds to his family.

We could probably start a whole other thread for things like this. The pilot had been running routes on his simulator in the month prior. They think he was upset at who was elected in his government.

Per Google.Gemini: "Forensic analysis of a home flight simulator belonging to MH370 Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah revealed he had practiced a route into the remote southern Indian Ocean less than a month before the plane disappeared. The data, initially deleted from the simulator's hard drive, is seen by some investigators as key evidence supporting a deliberate act."

There's a lot of weird stuff going on with that whole situation. I agree though, the whole earth is watched via satellites, so I believe the US knows the flight path. I remember them offering to "help look" pretty early on,which felt like soft pressure on their government to stop hiding so much of that story. Which is pretty funny coming from our government and the stuff our 3 letter agencies get into.

Watched the season finale of Dexter Resurrection this morning, solid. Was a bit disappointed in Original Sin but Resurrection made up for that - lot of OG Dexter vibes. Original Sin was just strange, disjointed.

Recommend this one, it's on Paramount + and all 10 episodes streaming.

Also was nice to see both Dallas and KC lose two nights in a row for opening games of NFL haha.

Animal Kingdom is freaking awesome. I wish I had a family like that.

=)~~

My company got acquired about a month ago so guess who's position was eliminated, have plenty of time to watch it now and taking my time for my next gig. I seriously don't know what to do with my time now and trying to stay out of trouble.

And why does Baz look like Stoll?

Sorry about the job. In the same boat over here. Just lucky my wife does okay.

Animal Kingdom was definitely pretty solid. Allegedly might do a spinoff since it's popularity was boosted off Netflix.

I'm halfway through the final season of Mr. Robot and it's pretty crazy. Feels extremely long. Little grinding at times, but soundtrack is unreal and the payoffs are legitimate. The main detective chick has a very unique look, so I looked her up and it's Meryl Streep's daughter. Looks like her in a lot of ways. Bring it full circle that they added The Deer Hunter to Netflix, which has a young Meryl Streep. Hadn't seen it in awhile and it holds up well. That dude in there, John Cazale, died during filming at like 40. He only made 5-6 movies in his career, and every single one of them was nominated for best picture. I guess they filmed his Deer Hunter scenes first, and he died before movie came out. Crazy resume though.

Sorry to hear about your situation too. I don't have a second income in the house and both my daughters live with me full time (Ms Puck I moved back from AZ in April but won't live with her mom and Ms Puck II never left for AZ when their mom moved there in July 2022) and both sons half the time so while I'll try to take some time off I won't be able to not get back to work too much later. Goal is by Nov 1 to be in a new spot.

But it's been kind of nice not having quotas and meetings and metrics and the pressure for now. Been able to go to on hikes, the beach, run the kids around and not freak out getting back to the home office for a meeting or whatever. Been to Knotts a few times the last 3 weeks and get on everything in under 2 hours during the week, park is near empty haha.

Didn't know about the Animal Kingdom spinoff, I'll be on the lookout for that.

Cazale was a great actor, I too was shocked when I went down a Godfather rabbit hole a while back and read he died. He was great as Fredo, I'll check some of his other stuff out.

Mr. Robot also on the binge list but with the Kings getting ready to go, NFL underway and MLB playoffs coming up the binges may slow down a bit.

Watched a three part documentary today called Death Row Confidential: Secrets of a Serial Killer and it was pretty good. I got Peacock a few months ago so Ms Puck II could watch Love Island (really?) and I could watch Yellowstone, she's done with that now so I'm going to cancel it but figured I'd take a quick peek before I do and stumbled on this today.

We hear about Ted Bundy, Rodney Alcala, Richard Ramirez, etc. but this dude is a major serial killer in NoCal and parts of Nevada who flew under the radar for like 30-40 years in the 1960s and 70s. One sick MF as you'll find out.

TLDR, another death row San Quentin inmate gained his trust and over the course of 10 years took detailed notes of their conversations, reached out to a cold case cop and together they solved a bunch of the cases. The other inmate wanted nothing, he was in for murder at 18 and was on death row for 40+ years - just wanted to do the right thing.

The ending is great, redemption is always possible. Won't ruin it for anyone interested but if you're into true crime like me I recommend.

S3 of Tulsa King is also out, watched the first episode earlier this week.

Have you seen Mindhunter on Netflix? Really good. Basically a show about how the FBI realized they had all these serial killers behind bars and what if they actually went and talked to them? So this dude Holden grabs his partner and they go into prisons and interview these guys. It splices in real audio from this guy's and it's pretty interesting. They use that info to start creating profiles on active killers and a whole branch is created from it. Only two seasons but they're pretty good. Gets into how taboo even talking to these guys was back then.

Also finally finished Mr. Robot. Glad I watched it, but it's super long and I sort of wanted it to be done. Music is awesome and payoffs are great, but some episodes are weird and the show runs very long. 4 seasons of full 45 minute episodes.

Watched Mindhunter when it initially came out, great show.

So I'm catching up on old shows that were popular as I wasn't watching as much TV 10 years ago when my kids were younger and so never got much control of the TV. I'm on Season 8 of How I Met Your Mother. Going into it I thought it was just a crude comedy but I have to say it is very well acted and written. Barney Stinson's character is pure comedic gold. If you haven't seen it one of the shows main characters is from Canada so lots of funny hockey references throughout, but episode I just watched last night even had a cameo of Luc Robitaille. So many great cameos throughout this series.

Going to start watching the last season of TWD, I never go through the final 16 episodes and forgot about the first 8 it's been so long so I'll the whole season all over again.

Also need to catch up on S3 of Daryl Dixon, that one is actually good for so many TWD spin offs that have come out since the series ended.

People warxh Christmas stuff all December, I'll be watching blood and guts all month.

I only watched the first two seasons of Walking Dead back in the day. Been on my list to circle back to, but there are a ton of seasons, so sort of have to mentally prepare. You ever watch Nip/Tuck? For whatever reason I am going to circle back to that (2003?). Back on a movie kick too. Sort miss not committing a minimum of 10 hours to something. Batman Trilogy always good for sure.

I can watch the Batman trilogy over and over again, Bale played a great Batman. The Batman with Robert Patinson took me a few times but that one isn't bad either. That Bat Mobile is my favorite one of all of them except the original from the Adam West days.

Another one is the Bond movies with Daniel Craig, to me he was the best Bond. Still a badass but had a human side to him, not some womanizing spy like the others before him. Craig suffers loss, defeat, emotions. Seemed more real to me than say Connery or Moore, and guys like Dalton and Brosnan sucked balls as Bond.

I can also watch over and over again - and was actually brought up when the ex and I split in 2019 because apparently I watched it too much haha - was Cast Away.

If you do the math on the timeline after his plan goes down, Helen Hunt sure didn't wait long to get her boogie on. Hooker!
