Wow! Just horrible news to hear. Thoughts and prayers to him and his family during this recovery.
Just read that shit. If it ain't something plaguing this team it's def a curse lol.
hopefully the medical staff caught this early enough. Just horrible for anyone to go through this, let alone a 23 year old. Get well Oskar, the Flyers family is behind you.
Flyers' Lindblom has rare cancer, out for season
Get well Oskar
This goes beyond hockey career
Hope you recover and have a long healthy life
Yep first Patrick then this, def hope everything goes well for this young man. Just sucks to see two big pieces of our future be in jeopardy.
You just hope that this has not spread because it's an especially rare cancer for adults and the survival rate is lesser than in children based on what I have read.
This just so happens to be the very end of the 13th Annual Jimmy V Week as well. I made a donation in the honor of Oskar Lindblom just this morning after getting home from work and learning of this.
I think everyone around this franchise, sport and beyond will rise up to support this 23 year old who has been having a breakout season for us. Rally around him and lift him up to overcome this terrible disease. To quote the late, great Jim Valvano, "Don't give up. Don't ever give up!!"
Sad to hear this news. He was really playing well this year but this is bigger then hockey now.
Hopefully he beats the odds.
And hopefully the guys rally behind him
He'll get the best treatment that the world has to offer and emerge stronger when he does beat it, so there's that.
Also, very much a secondary thought at this point, but I could see our Flyers dedicating the season and our results to Lindblom, which can be a very powerful motivator moving forward.
