The San Francisco 49ers announced they have signed S Bubba Ventrone to a one-year deal. To make room on the roster, the team has waived WR Kassim Osgood.

Ventrone (5-10, 200), a nine-year veteran, rejoins the 49ers after playing in all 16 games and three postseason contests with the team in 2013. He registered 15 special teams tackles and recovered a fumble for the 49ers last season.


Sorry Osgood! Not cool 49ers keep doing this to him.

Isn't Osgood one of those guys who just makes plays left and right on Special teams? I seem to remember him always downing the ball inside the 5 and being the first to the ball carrier?

Good gunners like that are valuable. Weird to see that he's always on the chopping block.
