If Vegas can support an NFL team based on tourism, Orlando should be able to support a baseball team with an indoor stadium.

It's just that I see Orlando like Vegas. The sheer number of tourists that descend on the area means that the visiting team will always have a fan base in town. Miami is one of those places that I personally have no urge to see. Put the Disney/Universal team to work marketing ticket sales. But, the #1 thing is and indoor stadium with a retractable roof.

Tampa/St Pete...win and some might come....the Tampa Bay sports fans has gotten a lot younger since when I lived in the Bay area, but that stadium should never have been built in St Pete....never. People from Hillsborough come over to Pinellas for one reason...the beach.

Florida and its "fans" don't deserve any more teams. With the exception of the Heat and the Lightning, no pro team is well supported.

Then again, if Las Vegas with its transient population can secure a NFL franchise, anything's possible.

As an orlando resident of 10 years and alumni of UCF the state of FL doesnt care about any sport other than football. If the team isnt winning games nobody goes to Magic games and the state of FL doesnt care about baseball like someone said earlier about Tampa and Miami. The only thing I would think would be a better situation would be if they moved the Rays to Orlando and transformed the disney stadium. Watching baseball in Tampa is the worst baseball experience of your life

We were at the Bengals game last week. Wanted to see a game there before they went to Vegas. Awesome experience.

How would it work because of tourism? How would an owner make money if the only way fans show up is if it is packaged with tickets to DisneyWorld? Vegas works for football fans because football and gambling are a secret marriage. A father spending a boat load on a vacation for their spoiled kids doesn’t seem like the demographic of spending more money on going to the ballpark.
