There are immortal jellyfish out there, you know. Immortal. Well, theoretically immortal. They can die if something, you know, kills them or something.

And I was trying to think of something epic. Like I got too close to a black hole while flying my relativistic spaceship and I had to find a way to escape. I then found some way to move at exactly light speed right before I reached the distance from the black hole where light could no longer escape. Then I flew back here, but you were all 300,000 years old because that's how relativity works, so I had to build a time machine, but I missed the target date by a few days, so my absence was longer to you than it was to me.

Well. There are insects that infect a host and take over it. There's one that will infect a rat and make it go towards a cat. Resulting in the cat eating it (and the rat) so it can infect the cat. There was also a case of a man in Haiti who was buried but found to be working on a sugar plantation later on. He was being used as labor by some voodoo priest or something. It's been awhile since I read about that.
