Keep an eye on this guy throughout camP. Homer seems to be very impressed with him. He is 6'6" 235. Sounds impressive to me and seems to cover a lot of territory. It is possible he may make the big club. Keep me posted guys if you can check him out up close.

he's not the only one.. couple of the beat writers tweeted that he was the guy that stood out yesterday.. granted they were just drilling, but still.. if he's standing out for more than just being a mammoth, thats awesome

I recently read a decent article on him where he was one of the top 3 defense prospects. I will try to find the article. Mall, did you hear about anyone else. Daily News had a good article on our 1st pick. Suggested he could make the team.

HockeyBuzz.com - Julie Robenhymer - Development Camp Day 2 (includes player assessment)

if you're curious

interesting bit about her calling lapierrere the 'newly appointed development coach'.. is he retiring and taking up coaching? i'd absolutely love it if he coached, but if he retires that 1.17 stays on the cap.. i think i'd be willing to swallow a 1.17 cap hit to have lappy as a coach though

and of course, she could just be joking around a bit calling him a coach since he's running the thing.. but just throwin it out there

I would love Lappys as q coach. The man is a winner. I just wish we got him earlier in his career or just had him for more years as a player. I'll never forget that shot he blocked in the face when we played NJD in the 1st round last year playoffs. Talking about taking one for the team. He left everything he got out on the ice. I think him being a coach can help our new young core.

He can coash while on LTIR, then take a permanant role afterwards. THey are already paying him for the year.

Very true, and I love the Blazers avi. I had a hockey stick that I kept for years but lost it along the way. I played with it 1 time on the pond and the blade broke. Oh well!
