I know that everyone says that nobody wants to put up with Texas, but make it a package deal with Oklahoma, and how could you turn that down if you were a Conference looking for your next TV deal.

If things start to realign it's best to weigh your options.

The #1 and #5 teams in total wins since WWII.
Built in Top 5 Rivalry, however you want to rank them.
National Brands
Huge built in audiences.

Where's the best place to go.
Where's the best money.

Just stay in the Big 12 and take Missouri back.

Probably wouldn't be the SEC. Texas wouldn't be able to bully the conference around.

Go west, young man, yall could rule the Pac forever.

Having to go through Bama every year to make the playoffs is pretty overrated too.

In that scenario Alabama, and Auburn most likely moved to the East. At that point if they are undefeated going into the SEC Championship game they make the playoffs.

Depends on how the rest of the country plays out and how competitive the SECCG is.

Here's an idea. Form a conference or two composed strictly of blue bloods and let the hangers on pound sand.

I've always believed like that. But it wouldn't have to be the traditional "Blue Bloods." Just get 12 teams from the existing
leagues that are name brand.

Florida State, Miami and Ga Tech would bolt the ACC in a heartbeat.
VPI used to be on that list, but with Beamer gone, I don't know
if they would bolt. I never thought Clemson would go even if
invited. The rest of the league is shit. They don't fill their home
stadiums and they don't travel, plus they don't really put a lot of
money back into football.

Most conferences are composed exactly like you describe. For casual CFB fans the "conference draws" are really only a handful of teams from each conference.

Here's one I heard today about the Ohio State AD resigning from the CFP committee. The idea was to have the committee composed of ADs whose schools have no chance of making the CFP. The ADs having to leave the room when a school is being considered puts said school at a disadvantage. The quote was something like "Let's be real. Oregon State, Texas Tech, Minnesota, Kentucky and Virginia aren't ever going to make the CFP...IN THE CURRENT FORMAT. Let the ADs from these type school serve on the committee so ADs from schools that have a hance 0f making the playoffs won't ever have to recuse themselves during deliberations."
