Bevell is the low hanging fruit for a lot of fans, but one thought is that there really isn't anyone better out there. So, with the reports out of Arizona, if Seattle would part ways, would people be happy if they brought in Bruce Arians to be the OC?

OC means nothing when RW has less than two seconds to the throw the ball. Until they figure out a line you could have bill belichick as OC and I think the offense would break top 15 in the league. Fire line coach Cable First.

Yeah I think, right or wrong, it is time to part ways with Cable. I guess we will see what PC decides though.

Wishful thinking, Bevell and Cable aren't going anywhere.

I doubt I would be on for Arians vertical game. I think you need a minimum top 5 WR for that to succeed.

If I had to pick 1 to keep and 1 to can between Bevell & Cable, Cable would be the guy to cut loose. The offense has been productive over the course of Bevell's tenure. It's even been prolific at times. Cable has been given all sorts of resources in the form of both high draft picks and veteran free agents with minimal improvement to show for it over the last 2 or 3 seasons. It's time for a fresh set of eyes.

I too would rather see Cable go. He was touted as some great line coach but we haven't seen any of that. As for Arians, no way would I want him anywhere near this team. His PA/ 7 step drop, hit the home run system doesn't work and especially with a team that doesn't have a running game.

pete carrolls offense is "smash em with the run, hit em deep with the pass" isnt it? seems arians would be a perfect fit.

and we might even have WRs running different routes instead of running into each other downfield.

Bevell is like the perfect OC for a defensive minded HC so I doubt he'll go anywhere.

He's not terrible enough to get fired and he's not good enough that he'll leave for an HC job.

The problem with defensive minded HC is that if they ever get someone that is really good at OC they'll be gone within a couple of years to take an HC job.

I'm no fan of Bevell, but I think Arians would be an upgrade.

I find it very unlikely such a scenario takes place. I think Arians is a good coach and I believe that the Cardinals would be wise to keep him on next season.

Even if Arians does get fired, there's no guarantee that Bevell departs, and I find it unlikely that Bevell gets fired.

Cable needs to go but I don't even know if that will happen.

We need a Oline guy(NOT CABLE) if Bevell leaves.

Not a QB Whisper like Arians

I don't want anything to do w/ Arians as our OC... RW doesn't fit his style of play...

Ok, just to get it out there, I wanted to start the conversation because I saw that he was leave Arizona at the end of the season. I personally don't have any desire to replace Bevell with Arians, and for those talking Cable - I don't know enough about other OLine coaches to come up with a viable option that would be considered an upgrade. It is interesting that once again Snuggles is pretty much alone on this topic as well.

Now, just to be fair, I will compare Bevell's performance to Arians (top 10s):

--------------------Bevell-------------Arians
Years----------------12----------------17 (5 HC, 12 OC)
Total Offense--------5------------------3 (2 HC, 1 OC)
Total Yards----------3------------------3 (2 HC, 1 OC)
Rushing O-----------7------------------2 (1 HC, 1 OC)
Rush TD-------------6-----------------3 (2 HC, 1 OC)
Passing O-----------2------------------5 (3 HC, 2 OC)
Pass TD-------------5------------------4 (3 HC, 1 OC)

In the end, if you want results, even if we discount whether Arians wants to run the same offense as Carroll, then the results favor Bevell in everything but passing yards.

What about total points?

What about total points?

That's what Total offense was. I guess I shoulda called it points scored. So Bevell has been top 10 5 times, Arians 3.

I think a change is needed, our offense has been underachieving for a while now... I think Russell Wilson makes our O function once play's break down, but so many times it just seems like we don't fool anyone, it's all Russ pulling off amazing plays making things work ... A fresh perspective could get things flowing more.. I think part of the predictability is the lack of running game obviously, it makes it harder ...
