But with Tyron Smith coming back from injury and veteran T.Y. Hilton signing this week, it still seems another big move could occur "sooner rather than later."

That's the phrase Cowboys owner/GM Jerry Jones said to a group of reporters Wednesday in Dallas at the NFL's owners meetings when asked about the possibility of finally adding Odell Beckham Jr.

"I don't want to talk about that ... but stand by," Jones said after the meetings concluded. "This thing could break."

While it wouldn't exactly be considering "breaking news" considering the Cowboys and Beckham have been linked now for nearly a month. OBJ visited the Cowboys' headquarters back on Dec. 5 in Frisco. That's when the medical team got a chance to evaluate Beckham's knee, which suffered a torn ACL in February. Even OBJ himself has hinted that he might not be ready to play until the postseason.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones did not rule out the possibility of the team still signing Odell Beckham Jr.

Speaking at the owners' meeting on Monday, Jones said of the OBJ situation, "I don't want to talk about that but stand by. This thing could break." According to ESPN's Todd Archer, Jones said if OBJ were to sign that it would be sooner rather than later, although Jones would offer a specific timeframe. The Cowboys spent over a month attempting to court OBJ, both over Twitter and in person, but the two sides have yet to agree on a deal. The recent signing of T.Y. Hilton would lead some to believe a deal between the Cowboys and the 30-year-old receiver is all but dead, but Jones appears unwilling to say as much. Beckham Jr. met with the Cowboys, Giants and Bills, but has yet to receive a formal offer. Buffalo recently signed John Brown and Cole Beasley to its team, leading many to believe the Bills are no longer a destination for the veteran receiver.
