Fuck Yeah. Mets win 6-2.
Another solid outing from Thor.
Ramos blasted a GS
(that almost wasn't) in the 1st.

:clap::clap::clap::clap:

Dom Smith crushed a PH HR in the 9th.
Lugo K'd the side in the 9th to end it.

:thumb:

Amazin's hit the quarter turn (game #40) at .500 (20-20)

He was acquired from Tampa Bay on May 6.

Nats LHP Patrick Corbin (3-1, 3.20 ERA) makes his 3rd start against the Mets this season. Corbin has a 3.75 ERA with 13 strikeouts, three walks and three homers allowed in 12 innings against New York.

Ugghh:
Jed Lowrie (hamstring strain) suffers setback

Hopefully other teams take notice of Dominic Smith. He's too good to ride the bench most nights.

I'd keep him around at least until Lowrie gets back...and just because he's good to play every 4th or 5th day and he can fill in at 1B & both corner OF positions. Plus, every good team has a bench player who's got pop in his bat..especially from the left side of the plate.

So...Font is a flop.
Get him out.
Finally..... sheeesh.
Dude couldn't make it thru 3 innings.

:L

It's already 5-1 Nats in the bottom of the 3rd.

Memo to GM Brodie van W......Go get Dallas Keuchel.

Thanks in advance.

Mets lose 5-1.
Wheeler will be on the hill for the rubber game on Thursday.
Hopefully the Mets can win this series before heading to Miami for the weekend.

Corbin's heavy dose of sliders the cure for Nats

Not sure why Callaway is so beholden to keeping Cano in the 3 hole...but he needs to move him down in the order ASAP if he continues to be unproductive.

Cano would like a few Corbin fastballs back

Next:
Mets RHP Zack Wheeler (3-2, 4.35 ERA) starts the finale of the three-game series. He is 4-9 with a 5.01 ERA in 15 career starts against Washington.

Nationals RHP Anibal Sanchez (0-6, 5.27) tries to avoid joining Jason Marquis (2010) as the only starting pitchers in Nationals history (2005-present) to open a season 0-7.

This is complete BS.
Wheeler did not bring his A game today.
Gotta stop getting punked.
Can't allow scrubs like Suzuki, Kendrick & Parra to beat you.

And when will Broxton be shipped out to Syracuse for a viable/reliable bat?

Roster needs some alterations.
This team has a hard time keeping momentum on their side for more than an inning or 2 or more than a game at a time. Everything becomes a self inflicted struggle.

Mets trail 7-4 in the 8th.

Credit where credit is due.

Mets scored twice in the 9th...and managed to load the bases to keep it interesting with 2 outs...but that's where it ended.
The aforementioned Broxton K'd for out #3.

That run allowed by Gsellman in the 7th, after the 2 out walk by Zamora proved to be fatal.

Mets lose 7-6.

Now it's onto Miami for the weekend.
Gotta take at least 2 of those 3 games.

Miss Scherzer and Strasburg and still lose the series.

It's frustrating to say the least.

Since getting to 20-20 on Tuesday, they've dropped 2 games below .500 in this series.

How they respond this weekend against the Marlins will be very telling.
Brodie vW and Callaway need to do more by way of reconfiguration with this roster.

The potential is there....but the output way too often is inconsistent at best.

That's what's most frustrating, across the board for the most part everyone has been decent, it's just a matter of offsetting guys off days with other guys having good days.

I was driving across the GG bridge earlier during the middle innings..
..and I know McNeil had to leave the game due to an abdominal issue, but I missed what happened to Conforto?

:noidea:

Why was he taken out?..and why in the hell did Callaway put Broxton in to hit cleanup in his place??
