:pound:at the Mets half of the 1st inning.

Nimmo tripled to lead off.....then Lindor singled him in.

Sure..they managed to score a run, but then they had 1st & 3rd with 1 out...then 2nd & 3rd with 2 outs.

Conforto, Baez and Villar all whiffed.

Basically....same as it ever was.

:L

Mets lead it (for now) 1-0....heading to the 2nd.

Looking forward to checking out Thor's return in the nightcap.

Noah Syndergaard is not expected to go deep into the game, as he only pitched single innings during a Minor League rehab assignment. He also plans not to throw any breaking balls in an attempt to ease the strain on his elbow.
Since breaking into the Majors in 2015, Syndergaard is 47-30 with a 3.31 ERA. He can become a free agent after the season.

LOL at McNeil.
Not sure he'll be back next year......same for Conforto.

Game 2 is tied 1-1 after 7.
Heading to extras.

Familia coming in.

edit:
and he just picked off the automatic runner at 2B...then easily got the other 2 outs.

I'm gonna go ahead and say it....lol

LGM!

Mets lose 3-2.
Rojas gave another game away with another one if his ill advised pitching changes in a key situation.
Lugo turned out to be ineffective in the 8th. That should've been Loup's inning, instead of the 9th.
But he's not the only one to blame for the team's downfall these last few weeks.
There's plenty of blame to go around throughout the roster, and current coaching staff.

If you're only able to score just 2 runs at home off a bottom feeding team like Miami, then you've got more problems than you thought you had.

Tai Walker deserved better..

The wrong Rojas.....lol

Trainer's Room..

Mets Backup catcher Tomas Nido (left thumb) was placed on the 10-day injured list. It's the third trip to the IL with a left thumb injury this season for Nido. C Patrick Mazeika was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse.
Manager Luis Rojas said RHPs Robert Gsellman (right lat) and Drew Smith (shoulder) still have a chance to return this week.

Sandy..

Up next..

In the final home game of 2021 for NY, Mets rookie, RHP Tylor Megill (3-6, 4.78), will start the series finale on Thursday and look to end his season on a positive note after posting a 12.86 ERA in his past two starts.
He'll face Marlins rookie RHP Edward Cabrera (0-3, 5.79)

Man o man....
Every Mets pitcher needs to practice their sac bunting during the winter months even before they arrive at spring training next year...where they absolutely must continue working on it there as well.

Yes....they're really that bad at it.

Good grief....Hill is unable to throw a shutdown inning yet again.
Mets had a 1-0 lead after 2...but Miami took a 2-1 lead in the top of the 3rd.
Mets tied it up 2-2 in the bottom of the 3rd.
Miami then retook a 3-2 lead in the top of the 4th.

I don't recall who (if anyone) or what we gave up to get Rich Hill from Tampa Bay, but the Rays definitely got the best of that deal.
