Bats have gone ice cold. Maybe getting Lowrie in the lineup at some point jump-starts them.

Something needs to happen.
If guys aren't hitting for days on end...ya gotta sit 'em.

They're losing winnable games and drifting farther below .500

I'm not trying to sound the alarm bell...but if they keep doing the same things over and over again and expecting different results but not getting it....that's called insanity.

Time to shake it up.

Well it looks like Diaz is about to give this game right back to SD in the bottom of the 9th.

Mets clinging to a 7-6 lead.
SD has the bases loaded after an IBB to Machado...and only 1 out with Hosmer coming up.

YES!!!
Met hang on to win it 7-6, ending their 4 game skid.

Diaz dug down deep to K Hosmer on a 3-2 pitch, then got the next hitter to ground into a force out at 2nd to seal the deal.

Wow!
Much needed TYVM.

Funny how baseball works.....The Pads bats were dead in April and the pitching kept us in games, with most of the games in April won by two or fewer runs. Our bats come alive in the past two weeks, and our pitching goes to the dogs, especially the bullpen. Oh well, there is always tomorrow.

Game is tied 2-2 in the middle of the 5th.

FTR: I still don't understand some of the logic/thinking (or lack thereof) behind a lot of Callaway's in game strategy on any given day.

It's questionable and head scratching to say the least.

Funny, Mets were almost exact opposite. Pitchers weren't amazing but bats bailed them out in April. In May the pitching has been solid and the bats have been non existent.

Mets had 2nd & 3rd with 1 out....but they were left stranded.

Still tied 2-2 at the 7th inning stretch.

Callaway being outmaneuvered and out managed by the opposing mgr in the late innings is not a good look.

edit: Mets relief pitcher Bashlor gives up a leadoff HR.
