His agent might be...but Jake has indicated he preferred to remain with the mets.
We may get a decision soon....in a matter of weeks.

I hope he stays.

They're better off keeping him until they hire a new GM and let him make the decision. Unless a team completely knocks their socks off with a proposal. If they don't trust the guys running the team enough to name one GM then don't let any of them trade your greatest asset. Let them trade Cabrera, Familia, Wheeler or anyone whose contract is up.

And if they decide to trade DeGrom they might be able to include Legares to remove that 8.5 mil from the books for next year and reallocate it to the pen. Use the rule 5 to poach an arm from the Yanks who keep pulling relievers out of their ass, they can't protect all of them. Omar probably knows who to go after. Pick up a proven guy like a Robertson who will be a free agent and likes NYC.
I read they're also getting the AAA team out of Vegas which is long over due. That was idiotic for an East coast team to begin with.

Me too, but I have a lack of trust in the Mets FO

Yanks have enough DH's. Besides, I hate the idea of a full time DH unless it's a Papi type who's a force. Better off leaving that open to mix and match like they're doing.

Ahh, come on, you can take one more

The thing here is, Wheeler has been pitching well for us this year. Cabrera I can see getting moved, we have lots of infielders lying around (many not that good, but cheaper at least).

I think Wheeler only has one year left on his deal so I mentioned him. His era is 4.44 so he hasn't been good outside of his last few starts. If a team is desperate enough for pitching depth they may be able to pry away a good asset. If not just keep him and try again next year.

Yep...I mentioned that months ago.
I suspect the Wilponzi's were in Vegas mainly to do some good old fashioned money laundering which couldn't be accomplished as easily in most other towns in the AAA circuit. They had a decent deal in Buffalo a few years ago and the close proximity to NYC was ideal but they abruptly left for the desert. All those years in Va. (Tidewater & Norfolk) were their best. Hopefully Syracuse will work out for the long haul.

So it's Syracuse, good move.

Your theory makes the most sense.

I know affiliate teams move around, but sometimes they are real head-scratchers. Leaving Tidewater was a stupid-ass move.

Toronto used to have an affiliate in Syracuse called the Skychiefs or something. I used to have a hat.

I'll go ahead and call a sweep.

That way, if the Mets manage to win one game, I'll be pleased

Here comes the part where we give the game away. Yanks keep finding hits, and now sloppy defense. Also missed some chances to score more
