So..Callaway sent JD Davis in to PH for Pounders.

Mets lefty Jason Vargas (3-3, 3.74 ERA) faces righty Yu Darvish (2-3, 4.65) in the second of the four-game series Friday afternoon. Vargas had to leave his last start Sunday against the Cardinals after four innings with cramping in his left calf. Darvish is coming off his best outing of the season -- one run and two hits in seven innings against the Dodgers on Saturday.

Dom Smith needs to be traded for an everyday solid 3rd baseman if you sticking with Alonso.

Lagares needs to go... how long are we gonna wait for this guy and now his defense is slacking off so we don't need him...I 'd rather see Gomez in center.

Ramos has to be one if the worst defensive catchers I've ever seen...and that's ridiculous if your team is supposedly built on pitching..Nido is way better.

And of course there is Mickey (Mouse ) Callaway ...one word ..awful.

But in the end it won't matter because management is clueless to hiring a ex agent as a GM...bad contracts to stiffs Cespedes /Cano...hell Bonilla...the Wilpons (Coupons) are an embarrassment... how MLB let's them keep this team is a joke....I've been a fan since I was 6 years old I saw 69 and 86...this regime is torture...I wish Doubleday would have kept them..

TBF...McNeil is a more than a capable OFer....and Conforto has played CF in previous years...and Frazier wasn't even supposed to be the everyday 3B...but yeah...that being said..
We're really missing Brandon Nimmo, and for that matter, Jed Lowrie...who has yet to even play 1 inning this season so far because of nagging injuries. His slow return has been a major setback. Hopefully one or both will finally be good to go in the 2nd half.

Geeez..it just never seems to end with this team and the injury bug.....Maybe it's part of the Wilponzi curse?
