But Matz crapped the bed by giving up 5 in the bottom 4th.
Gsellman takes over w/ 2 outs & 1 on in the 4th....

After walking a batter he gets the 3rd out.

Pirates lead 5-3, heading to the 5th.

Mets drop the opener...Bucs win 8-4.
Matz was lame....and Bashlor out of the pen sucked too.
Win streak ends at 7.
Hopefully start a new one tomorrow w/Marcus Stroman on the mound making his Mets debut.

Mets RHP Marcus Stroman makes his first start for New York on Saturday after being acquired in a trade with Toronto. Stroman is 10-5 with a 2.93 ERA against National League teams in his career.

Pirates Chris Archer (3-8, 5.58 ERA), who is 0-3 with a 6.00 ERA since June 12, will make his second start against the Mets in a week. New York touched Archer for six runs in five innings last Sunday.

Mets RHP Jacob Rhame was placed on the 10-day IL with right elbow discomfort. ... LHP Donnie Hart was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse and pitched a perfect eighth inning, a day after he was claimed off waivers from Milwaukee.

Amed Rosario hit a solo bomb in the 3rd.
Then Jake deGrom stroked a 2 run single in the 4th..
Here in the 5th Pete Alonso hit an rbi single..and JD Davis hit an rbi sac fly to give the Mets a 6-1 lead heading to the 6th.
