We grabbed an early 3-0 lead...but trailed 4-3 after 6.
2 clutch PH rbi hits (JD Davis & CarGo) put us back on top late.
Lugo escaped trouble in his 1 inning of relief in the 8th.
Gsellman (not Diaz) closed it out in the 9th.
Wheeler was solid for the most part, went 7 and earned his 5th W.

Mets RHP Jacob deGrom (3-5, 3.71 ERA) has won once in his last nine outings despite four quality starts in that stretch will take the mound on Saturday. Since opening the season with 24 strikeouts in 13 scoreless innings over two starts, deGrom has a 4.68 ERA.

Diamondbacks RHP Zack Greinke (6-2, 2.78 ERA) leads the majors with 11 quality starts, all coming after he gave up seven runs and four homers in a loss to the Dodgers in the season opener March 28. He is 5-1 in his career against the Mets.

Mets were cruising along comfortably riding on a solid outing by deGrom and some timely hitting...heading to the bottom of the 8th up 5-1.

If they somehow manage to blow this one (and it's looking like they might)....
It'll totally be on Callaway.



Familia got the 1 out we needed in the 7th.
There was absolutely no reason to march his ass out there again in the 8th.

It's now 5-3...and only 1 out in the 8th with the tying run at the plate.

After the game, deGrom said his exit was prompted by a right hip cramp, but he lobbied to stay in the game after the cramp dissipated when being checked on a second time.
