I'm bored so let's play a game.

The title of this thread comes from this Monty Python segment...

What does "None Shall Pass" have to do with a fantasy football discussion?

Welp, as mentioned in a brilliant thread about MATH not too long ago on this same forum, last year only 3 of the first 12 RB selected actually finished in the top 12. That's 25%. "Not too good" as Donald the "Bubble Boy" would say.

Also, the MATH thread mentioned that only 6 of the first 12 WR drafted actually finished in the top 12. Better, but still "not too good." 50%

These numbers are not unique. Was going back in past years and the RB was rarely better than 41% (5 of 12) Pretty sure the WR fared no better even at 50%, though there may have been a season or two as good as 67% (8 of 12). But I digress...

Here are the current ECR for the RB and WR. The game? Let's say that 2016 is a banner year for RB and 6 of the first 12 actually do finish that way.

Your goal, pick 6 players from each that won't finish in the top 12.

Not so easy, is it?

Or if you'd rather see the Bubble Boy segment instead from Seinfeld, here ya go...

Just to clarify, I'm not saying that these guys will do terrible. Some may have a pretty good season, yet might fail to crack to the top 12. Usually it's because some other player outside of this grouping has a tremendous season. So if Allen Robinson finishes 14, that still is pretty good. But It also means it wasn't in the top 12. And this typically happens each year, although as fantasy owners we tend to ignore it.

My 6 from each.
RB - David Johnson, Double E, Charles, Freeman, Lacy, McCoy.
WR - Dez, Hopkins, Jeffery, Evans, Marshall, Robinson.

The Running backs are hard because it is not about efficiency it is about health... Wish the RBs were measured by per game instead of per season...

Wrs- i had 7 i wanted to pick... but picked 6 because of the game... and left off Allen Robinson...

Agree, RBs are about health, WRs were much easier.

There were a couple easy ones with RB too that are not health related... but generally the stud RBs are studs per game average

AP, Zeke, Miller, Lacy, Ingram, Shady

And

Hopkins, ARob, Marshall, Jeffery, Dez, and Evans

This was really hard though and I'm sure some of these guys will get hurt which kinda makes it impossible.

Wow.
No one picked Dougernaut yet? (Not even me.) IDK? 4 years in the league and 2 subpar seasons. His lack of consistency may indicate that he's due for disappointment. I may have to change my list?

And all of you ('cept Treff) took AP? The RB landscape changes but AP always seems to be in the mix.
And no one picked Bell? Not a good thing to have knee and doobie issues so young in your career.

I wanted to pick Bell..but Damnit, if he makes it 16 games, there's no way he's not a top 3 finisher.

No idea why, but I have faith in Dougernuat/muscle hamster/Dougie Fresh. .whatever his name is now.
Can't for the life of me figure why anyone would choose AP..only back in the league locked into 300 carries, he could lose a yard off his ypc, and the volume alone would still get him top 12

not sure if this is good or bad for either of us, but I made sure to do my list without looking that the replies so far, and we were almost identical. Nelson/Jeffery swapped on WRs, Miller and DJ/AP Charles on RB.

My thoughts on AP in regards to Joe's comment - I just think he won't be able to continue to carry that offense on his back forever. Looked human in a couple games for what seems like the first time last year. Also, possibility of a more RBBC approach this year in Minny.
Doesn't mean I wouldn't want him on my team, just a hunch. Won't have any bearing on my draft selections, would love to get AP in the mid-first if possible.

At some point that's very true, no doubts he can't carry them forever. My guess is 2017, maybe even 2018..I saw enough last year to convince me he's got one more in him
