Also it wouldn't be a non-Mariners related thread without me pointing out how great Nelson Cruz is.

Since joining the Twins here are his numbers:

191 games, 63 HRs, 155 RBIs, .310 BA, .392 OBP and a .630 SLG % adding up to a 1.022 OPS. He loves the game and it's incredible to see someone in their late 30s/early 40s still absolutely destroying the baseball.

He has 346 HRs since he was 30 despite averaging only 123 games a season over that span. Pretty damn impressive. I really hope he plays as long as he can, he's such a fun player to watch. I don't think I've ever seen a happier guy playing baseball.

D-Backs allowed 0 runs in both games of a double-header vs Braves while Braves combined for 1 hit over both games. Wowza!!!

Half ass joking, but Cruz is the reason there is a debate in the science community right now about men getting hormone therapy way before their testosterone level plummet. He didn’t go all Barry Bonds on PED’s and he lengthened his prime.

Amazing on so many fronts. How he goes from wanting to end it all to going back to baseball is awesome enough then being able to perform with just one eye is unbelievable to me physically because you lose your depth perception. Let me tell you from experience, when I lost my eye at age 22, I went from once starting at PG in junior college to not being able to put a key in a door because of it. He has my support that is for sure.

It doesn't bother me if he's using PEDs, honestly. I'm convinced many professional athletes use them and it's easy to pass a urine test. I say this from personal experience, but before starting a new job back in Dec. 2019 I was drug tested having smoked marijuana the night before and having taken adderall the day of (either of which would've disqualified me for the position), and passed after buying some shit from a head shop and drinking a ton of water/taking a bunch of vitamins.
