I didn't mind the Evan White deal though it didn't work out but wasn't a big fan of the Julio deal when it happened. Just too early for too much money.
Whites what $24 million total? I mean it is what it is but if I’m Gilbert, Woo or Miller I’m hanging up if it’s not $180 million plus and if I’m any of the young prospects $50 million is the minimum.

I’m not saying I’m not glad they got it done it’s just if Griffin and Emerson don’t become superstars then I think it hurts both franchises.

It may put a slight dent into their future spending, but neither will change their future plans. But the benefit if they hit is game changing.

$180 for Gilbert or Miller at this point is criminal. Woo is remain to be seen for value. If he can stay healthey, he has the chance to be $150M+, but I doubt Gilbert or Miller gets $100M+. At least not from M's. I wouldn't anyways.

All fair but as their agent how are you going to look at a kid who only has never played in the big leagues but the organization thought him playing in Tacoma is better than the open SS position.

I just think this sets the starting point for anyone on an extension.

Sure it will, but agents are going to use whatever they can regardless to get the most money for their clients. I don;t see this changing much if anything.

So how soon can he become a Dodger?

Japanese Teen Phenom Haruki Komoda Draws Ohtani and Judge Comparisons
Last updated 14 hours ago

Playing for Yamanashi Gakuin High School, Komoda posted a 1.224 OPS with three homers and touched 94.4 mph in relief at the Spring Koshien tournament, earning praise for his low-90s fastball, splitter, and slider. A left wrist fracture sidelined him after March 24, but surgery on March 30 promises a full recovery by late May or June. Projected as a top-three NPB Draft pick this October, the junior captain idolizes Ohtani and eyes a pro path in Japan first.

Something American baseball could learn from the Japanese is quit specializing kids so young. Let them hit, pitch and play multiple positions until they prove they can’t.

Said for years we were better when we used to fight. The only good thing Winkler was good for. We need an attitude adjustment.
Brawling with the Yankees in the 90s seemed to work. Maybe a good brawl with the Astros would work.

Zero fire on this team
My exact words to my brother. It is like we went from being a rag tag team full of life to a team that thinks they are supposed to be professional about things. BS, go act like idiots and have fun and get into it.

Legitimately the vibe of the team seems off. I dont know what it is but it almost has the feeling that they don’t want to be there or something.

I honestly think there is a more 'professional' vibe about them, and I don't mean that is a complimentary way. It is like they think they have to act this way to be taken seriously. This was one of the reasons I didn't like the whole Cal thing in WBC. Just relax people and be themselves.

Yeah it does have a bit of that feel to it. Maybe Cal being part of team douche during the WBC rubbed off on him and he brought it back to the Mariners club house.

Team douche being led by Captain douche of the Yankees was eye rolling they got what they deserved imo.

Not sure the exact word but it seems more than an off vibe. Like whatever Randy’s mental condition is where 5% of the time he seems like he cares and the 95% he seems like he’d rather do anything else. That’s what it seems like cause they’ve had bad offensive spells in the past but they are making bonehead plays in the field and on the bases.

It’s like they are playing 90’s spring training where everyone always came in overweight and hadn’t played ball since the previous season so they spend spring kicking off the rust.

And this is where my only real complaint about Dan is, is that he is showing no fire. If his team can’t hit ok, but when they make little league mistakes this is when you get yourself ejected or something. That is primarily why Lou got ejected. He wanted the story about him and not how bad his team was playing

It would be nice to see Dan get fired up especially when they are playing like garbage. He has always seemed to have a hard time playing that role. Really the mentality of the team could be turned around with a few good games. They have played like trash and they know it, could also be a factor in the way they act.
