Nominations Needed for 2011 Hookie Awards

So, here is the deal. While most of the awards are based on the overall posting of individuals throughout the year, two new awards will be in play this year which allow someone to win a Hookie just for one shining moment of brilliance, analysis, or hilarity.

The two new awards are:
Post of the Year - the best single post of the year (7-1-10 to present)
Thread of the Year - the best overall thread of the year (7-1-10 to present)

While most of the awards are open and board members can vote for anyone, these categories are going to have nominees so we don't have 83 individual posts all tied for the award.

WHAT THE HOOKIES NEED FROM YOU, SportsHoopla NATION
We need nominations for these two new categories. Have a thread you love? A post that cracked you up to no end or where you thought the analysis was incredible? Maybe its a great animated GIF someone created. Maybe its some shtick a poster does over and over. Here's all you have to do:

Indicate whether you are nominating a thread or a post (or both) and post a link to the post or thread in THIS thread.

The nominating commitee will whittle it down from there. Thanks all!

Also, we need 2-3 more members for the nominating committee, so if interested, post you'd like to be on it.

Please note these are the only awards that will be based on nominations. All other awards are based on the poster themselves (Best Poster, Most Hilarious, Best Team Knowledge, etc.) and are open votes.

No, there was a thread asking for category suggestions and ideas on the rules. This thread is for nominating threads and posts for the actual awards.

Yes, these awards are specific to the HOCKEY board, so the post must be on the hockey boards. I'd generally suggest posters recommend stuff on the "NHL Hockey Forum - General Discussion" since more people will be aware of it and/or identify with it, though posts on NHL team/conference boards are eligible as well.

Can I nominate my own thread? Is that kosher?

Absolutely. People are most familiar with their own posts obviously. So not only is nominating yourself allowed, but it might be the best way to generate lots of nominees.

The only person you can't vote for or nominate... is me! I'm ineligible since the votes are PMed and it would creat unfair bias/pressure.

Good call, Pix. Note you can sort by views, replies, and rating to get some of the more populare threads/posts pulled up. Doesn't mean the best posts are in them, but they are likely popular for a reason.

Google also does a good job finding individual threads if you have something in mind. Just put some keywords from there thread and add "sports SportsHoopla message board." Does the trick.
