yep, i noticed this a few days ago when looking at the games for the week. i suppose at this point in the season, it's the right thing to do. all teams need to get on the same schedule/same amount of rest heading into the playoffs.
I can understand no thursday on the last week... Although, it should be flex scheduling... But wasnt it tradition that after college football ended that we get at least one saturday game?? How about the fact we dont even get a christmas game this season!!!
I understand the Saturday thing. The Christmas thing though would be impossible to do with it being on a Wednesday this year. It is too quick of a turnaround from Sunday plus like I stated above then would provide those two teams with a glorified bye week right before the playoffs that the other 30 teams would not get.
Why does it have to be a playoff team to play... we just want football... Its ok if it is tennesee vs the texans...
For a game like that though they would most likely have to have it planned at the beginning of the season and there is no telling what teams will or won't make the playoffs that year. Look at the Chiefs this year going from worst to tied for best record in the AFC right now.
Plus like I said the whole Wednesday thing is kind of an issue. Players would revolt as they already have said they hate Thursday night games.
The schedule can be flexible though... I am really arguing for saturday games now, i can definitely understand the argument against the wednesday night christmas game- although if you make a saturday game and then a wednesday game, there would be no difference than a sunday then thursday...
For example- this week there would be 3 saturday games, then christmas day 2 of the teams that played on saturday would play the christmas game...
