No more reason for optimism

It’s officially over.

I was ‘All in’ this season. Really believed the pieces were in place to make this a special season.

So, like all of Mountaineer Nation... I was in shock watching our boys come out and lay down for the Pokes in the 2nd half.

That may have been the worst Mountaineer football I’ve ever watched in my lifetime. I know Okie St has some offensive threats, but... Good Lord... our defense gave up 400 yds of offense in the 2nd half. Allowed them to score 21 points in the 4th qtr.

It is still unfathomable how it played out... how hopeless it felt to watch it play out...

What floored me was seeing our secondary standing around, not perusing, not tackling. Offensively, I thought the play calling was terrible. Spam was pass happy in a game that the refs refused to call holding or DPI. The run game looked good but it went ignored. Not happy at all with the way we looked.
