As of now the Padres are out of the playoffs. Good news. Another team who tried to buy a championship goes down

Padres are tough at home. Hopefully they can sweep the Dodgers

Yeah, it really doesn't matter. None of this matters. The evil rich Dodgers are all
terrific athletes. They've got the best equipment that money can buy. Hell, every player has their own personal masseuse. Not masseur, masseuse. Do you know that every Dodger player has electrocardiagram, blood and urine tests every 48 hours to see if there's any change in his physical condition? Or that they use the most sophisticated training methods from the Soviet Union, East and West Germany and Trinidad and Tobago?

But it doesn't matter. Because even if an underdog small market team were to win.... Even if they play so far above their heads that their noses bleed for a week to 10 days, Even if God in heaven above comes down and points his hand at their side of the field. Even if every man, woman and child held hands together and prayed for them to win. It wouldn't matter because the Dodgers would just go to the trophy store and buy a bigger tropy.

Even though it's down to 2 teams this is definitely the best race in baseball. They now easily have the 2 best records in baseball by a few games but they are going to keep pushing each other because no one wants to have to play a one game series against the Reds or whoever.

Yep. Its old school vs the new "buy yourself a championship" methods. At least the putrid Dodgers did not gain ground.

It’s going to be a fun race but unfortunately one the Giants will lose. They hung on valiantly to the lead through August as the Dodgers went an incredible 21 and 6 in that month

Would be cool to see the Giants re-gain first place against the Dodgers this weekend.

102 wins gets it done with the Dodgers now being 3 back in The Column. Works great because my analysis of the remaining schedule shows the Giants going 12 and 10. That gets us to the magic number
