Good point. Bay Area fans are generally pretty weak unless their team is winning.I wonder what the crowd will look like post JG. Now we're gonna see how 'faithful' the fanbase truly is.

I'll give you the Warriors argument but I don't remember the Nolan/Singletary era that way at all. The games I went to were maybe 2/3rds full. The Warrior fanbase is among the most loyal fanbase in the NBA. The arena was always filled. Even during the Nolan/Singletary years Candlestick games were sold out. With the 49ers, everything changed when they moved to Santa Clara and jacked up the season ticket prices. Brought in another fanbase that is a much weaker fanbase.

That's fair. I remember going to Giants' games at the StTick in the 70s where the crowd was only 800. My friends and I got about 30 baseballs that day that were hit into the stands. No one to compete with, we were just walking over and picking them up. I got one that Pete Rose hit and two fouls from Tony Perez. The games were always sold out and there were some no shows but I don't think what we experienced then was any different than most fan bases. When they moved to Santa Clara it was a lot worse.

We agree.Yes, they were and maybe you know this better than me but when a MLB team is a 100 game loser do other baseball stadiums fill up or are they fairly empty? I am quilty of this myself. When the Giants are on pace to lose 100 games and seeing the product they are putting on the field this year, I really am not interested in going to any games during the second half of the season. I might catch a few games on TV but that is the extent of it.
I for one loved it when the place was empty. That's fair. I remember going to Giants' games at the StTick in the 70s where the crowd was only 800. Yeah, it was cool. I remember after the 5th inning or so they'd let you down front. I thought for sure the Giants were going to move though. That would have been a bummer.I for one loved it when the place was empty.
For what ever reason, the Giants won nearly every game I attended.
After a dozen wins, the first loss I witnessed is when they split a doubleheader with the Cards.

Seemed the Giants to Tampa Bay was a done dealYeah, it was cool. I remember after the 5th inning or so they'd let you down front. I thought for sure the Giants were going to move though. That would have been a bummer.
I seem to recall it was St. Petersburgh, or is that the same thing? I also remember Labatt's Breweries was going to buy them and take them to Toronto.Seemed the Giants to Tampa Bay was a done deal
Hmm. By Jove!I seem to recall it was St. Petersburgh, or is that the same thing? I also remember Labatt's Breweries was going to buy them and take them to Toronto.
What if the Giants had moved to Toronto in 1977?Hmm. By Jove!
