I didn't see this posted. Nice story. They also have a link to his best saves.

Sports' least-known all-time great

(CNN) -- Martin Brodeur was unstrapping his goaltending pads after another victory, about to be rushed to a TV interview, when a reporter on deadline made a request. Could he answer just one quick question?

"Yes, I'm 40," Brodeur cracked, predicting the question before it could be asked. "For some reason, that's a big deal."

Well, it actually is, and the reason is simple: Brodeur couldn't celebrate the milestone -- his birthday was May 6 -- because he was too busy notching another win en route to leading the New Jersey Devils to the Eastern Conference Finals.

And now, as the playoffs move to the final two rounds, Brodeur has a chance to win the Stanley Cup at an age when most players already have hung up their skates and picked up their golf clubs...........
Continued, good read.

great story.

I actually thought #3 was his best in this list (bad feed of videos) it wasn't just the save on #3 it was his following of the puck and how he covered it. pretty amazing

anyway Calgary Drafted Trevor Kidd over Marty Brodeur :D and we drafted Peter Nedved over Jaromir Jagr.

:L

matt, I should have put in the OP that it has a link to his best saves. I'll edit it now. Yes I thought it was a good story too.

I am just glad that I saw a league that had Brodeur and Roy, Gretzky and Lemieux, Sakic and Yzerman and Stevens and Lidstrom in it at the same time.

We've had some unbelievable greatness in our recent past.

I want Brodeur to win the Cup and the Conn Smythe, not because I give a shit about him or the Devils but because I hate having to admit that St. Tourettes is the greatest goalie of all time. Winning one without Stevens or Neids would go a long way towards crowning Marty in my book.

I don't think we'll ever see anyone do what Hasek did in Buffalo again... at least not for a long time.

In my mind, Brodeur surpassed Patty when he topped Sawchuk's shutout record. To a goalie, that record was the end-all. If for no other reason than he took that many games deep without letting his team down.

To me Roy's Conn Smythes trump that, the guy was disgusting in the playoffs. Realistically Roy, Hasek, and Brodeur are all arguable as the greatest.

Really though, you could make a pretty good dream team from the 1995 lockout to the 2004 lockout. When you have a group of guys like Lidstrom, Bourque, Stevens, Pronger, Coffey, and MacInnis, it's just silly to think that a first-ballot HOF guy like Niedermayer would have to be the healthy scratch! It was a great era; we were very fortunate.

He wouldn't be a healthy scratch for long. Coffey would piss off Scotty and Nieds would be in the very next game.

edit: I know we all remember him for his antics as an eighty year old man, but Chris Chelios was an absolute beast during that exact same time frame, and would give Coffey and Nieds a run for their money. Arguably the smartest and best of the bunch defensively during his prime.

Just think if Konstantinov never got hurt... think how far down the list Blake is.

Oh, God... and to think that Blake has an outside chance at the HOF.

So here's what we're looking at:

Bourque-Lidstrom
Stevens-Chelios
MacInnis-Pronger
Roy-Hasek

and

Niedermayer-Coffey
Leetch-Murphy
Konstantinov-Blake
Brodeur-Belfour

Zubov, Gonchar, Curtis Joseph would be up in the press box!
