NHL Scoring System

Just out of curiosity, are you guys happy with the way the scoring is in the NHL? Or would you rather it be like IIHF scoring (W= 3, OTW= 2, OTL= 1)?

Me personally, I think NHL is retarded, should be olympic style. Thoughts?

why gain points when you don't win

That way, you don't have the people that cant seem to win, yet get 20 points for losing in OT in the playoffs.

I don't mind the 3 point system at all. But really any system that involves giving out the same amount of points for every game would be preferred over the current one.

Then 1 point for a win would be enough. No need for 2.

..in fact.. points systems become pretty useless at that point, so scrap it altogether.

Just use win/loss record like every other sport that makes sense.

I like keeping the same 2-point system for nothing more than the preservation of history, but I never minded the tie either.
