So Joe Thuney and Gabe Jackson are FAs, increasing the supply of extremely good guards in FA, yet we give BS 18 mil. BTW, Thuney is also an AP.

This is a completely different situation.

KC was a FA at the most sought after position in all of sports.

Brandon Scherff would have been a FA at the second to third least important position on a team, and one of the easiest to replace.

Going strictly by memory, KC got 30 million/ while Rodgers was getting 28 mil/, a 2 million dollar increase (about a 5% increase over #2).
Brandon Scherff is at 18 million, 3 million more than the next closest player, but more importantly, a 20% increase over #2...at a far less important position.

He is a wild card simply because he doesn't have a set position. The defense excelled without him last season.
