NFL must change OT rules

It was so disappointing to not see Mahomes get a chance to match Brady with a TD of his own.

IMO no matter what the team does in the opening possession, the other team should be get the ball back to try and match it.

After that then you can go to sudden death.

I'm perfectly fine if they would only use this formula in the playoffs.

Losing a game due to a coin toss is just so trash to me.

There was 2 in the first 2 weeks and there probably should have been 2 or 3 more. The ends don't justify the means in this situation.

I know the rules. It is ok now. Better than it was 10 years ago but this is the next step IMO. The NFL OT rules will be perfect if they did that.

Nobody can complain. Both offense gets to touch the ball no matter what pretty much and you go to sudden death rules if the game is tied after the first 2 possessions of OT.

You have to factor in the wear down on players at that stage. If D steps up, team gets a chance.

I will say, when the Saints won the NFC in 09', you won the toss. I doubt Favre could have responded with the shape he was in, but you never know.

Unless you think, NFL teams won't score a single point after the first 7-8 minutes of OT, under my system you will never get a 4 OT game.

Great point ,at this stage including preseason, these teams have played 22, 23 games and don't have a 90 man roster like in college and not 19 yr old kids

And that led to the change to the new OT rules that they're currently using.

Hopefully the game tonight lead to another tweak in the OT rules
