Never was an advocate of this signing myself but understand the realities of talent trumping off field issues.

He has a history of off the field issues dating back as far as high school IIRC. College at minimum. Outside of the alleged DV issues, there is the Twitter rant (from his GFs account) after leaving the Saints which was incredibly unprofessional and attacked individuals and disclosed info about people which should never be shared - whether accurate or not.

Some huge red flags. Not saying people can't turn their lives around. Just saying. To the buyer, beware.

He has shown remorse but one has to wonder regarding this biting the Skins in the ass down the road. How much of the story do we truly know? Hope Scot has the real skinny here.

As i have mentioned before Cali, I have seen DV from both sides. And to a degree we have created the monster we fear. Not saying the man is innocent. But I tend to trust SMGM to have done his home work.

Seeing mixed info on whether Galette can serve this suspension while on IR.

My understanding is that he has to be on the active roster to serve.

Lets not jinx it. He got two games for a stupid tweet that was considered conduct detrimental to the league ( least Im assuming this is the January incident they speak of). Domestic Violence is a tad bit different from getting caught up in a beach brawl... thats if it was him in the first place.

No doubt. In some respects. I yearn for the ignorant bliss the Dark Ages of BTI "Before The Internet" afforded us. I don't want to hold shit against someone that they did 20, 10, or even 5 years ago. But some of the shit Galette was hit up with, driving with an expired license and a suspended license, baffles me. As you don't have to be drunk/high/pissed off and could be completely in the right far as what happened, but get in a motor vehicle altercation. When you don't have the proper paperwork to be driving or told not to drive by court authority and you could lose literally everything on a couple levels in the blink of an eye or the sound of a judge's gavel striking a sound block. Then throw in the DV issues and falling out with, rants against Saints coaches/teammates thing and sigh...................

Galette was arrested and charged with misdemeanor simple battery/domestic violence in early January after a domestic incident at his home in Kenner, Louisiana. After an investigation, the charges were dropped in February.

The accuser, a 22-year-old woman, filed a civil suit against Galette, alleging he sexually abused her for years and held her against her will. But that suit was dismissed in August after the woman failed to pursue the case.

Well as the case was dropped, odds are we never know what really happened. SO at the end of the day we have to trust the GM. Aside from a suspect cell phone video we dont have a pattern here. Sure is it possible he did get into a physical altercation with this woman?? Probably on some level. But by the same token, Im not seeing this as an on going issue and I will leave it to the team and the GM to sweat the details, because as you said... rarely are these guys saints. (pun intended)
