Maybe it's because I'm British, but I really don't see the point in OT in the regular season. Seeing teams with records like 8-4-4 might annoy some people though.

i had nothing against ties either. dont want a tie then go for it in regulation or play some defense. even sudden death was better than the BS college OT rules.
