As I see it, the Broncos' biggest needs are: DT, DE, MLB, and RB. Here's a compilation of players that I think may fall in the general range of the Broncos' first 4 picks who would be good selections:

DT -- S. Williams, J. Jenkins, K. Short, J. Hankins, J. Williams
DE -- B. Werner, D. Jones, T. Carradine, M. Hunt, D. Moore, A. Okafor
MLB -- M. Te'O, K. Minter, K. Alonso, J. Bostic
RB -- E. Lacy, M. Ball, K. Davis, L. Bell, S. Taylor, M. Lattimore

I think with a little luck and some trading back and trading up, the Broncos could possibly address one of each of these positions with the first 4 picks. This would be ideal imo, but if we got any 3 of these players, I would still be pretty stoked.

Best case scenario without trading picks:
(28) Sylvester Williams, DT UNC
(58) Alex Okafor, DE Texas
(90) Le'Veon Bell, RB Mich. St.
(125) Jon Bostic, ILB Florida

I could certainly see us trading out of the first like we did last year.

I agree mega, and if Elway wasn't blowing smoke with his recent comments, then moving up seems out of the question. I'm guessing our first pick will end up anywhere between 28 and mid-2nd round.

I could be wrong but I think Brandon Jenkins, the DE out of Florida State will be a steal for some team in like the 6th or 7th round. He sucks against the run and missed most of his senior year with an injury, but as a situational pass rusher he could be a great pickup in the throw away rounds.

I'm starting to get a feeling that we may move up. Maybe try to get an Ansah or Mingo. We don't have a lot of needs and I've been hearing that a bunch of teams are looking to move down. Tomorrow should be interesting.

I'd be surprised if we traded up but you never know. Maybe someone that the team really loves will fall back a little which could lead to a trade up. I still love the d-lineman that should be available.

Looks like the draft talk has come alive in this forum since 2013.

Good call on pick 28. I was never jumping for joy with Sylvester, but it was about what I was expecting this particular draft. I thought Bostic would turn out much better.

I remember that.... Yeah, he had a few moments here and there for us. Not a total bust, but really not what we are looking for as a NT. I felt like he was a guy who could come in and help right away but not a high ceiling.

He was one of those guys I felt like showed the disconnect between Elway and the coaching staff when it came to drafting players. Elway has wanted a Phillips type system where they are attacking down hill. That is what Elway had his final few years where the system was made to force teams into big mistakes with some game changing plays. They were aggressive and tried to dictate to the offense what they could do. Instead we got Del Rio/Fox's system where we were asking guys known more for a good 1st step quickness to then be a 2-gap player trying to hold their point of contact.

And yeah i agree with Nick on the fact that Sly was limited on how much he could grow as a player because of his age. While I understood the pick it definitely was not my favorite. I was a much bigger Floyd fan and when he went then wanted us to take Rhodes. The Vikings took both guys I wanted. I was also a fan of Ogletree but didn't figure the Broncos would take him as he plays a position they just don't value.
