I guess if you want something done around here, you gotta do it yourself. So, here is the 2018 Draft Contest!!!!!!!!!!!

Rules are fairly straightforward (and cut and pasted from the link) - choose the player you think the Broncos will choose at the given spot ..

You are allowed to predict trades, both picks and current players ...

Here is how we'll score it:

+10 points for picking the correct player at the correct spot

+5 points for the correct player but at the wrong spot

+3 points for the correct position at the correct spot

- Added bonus for trades

+5 points for trading the pick ( either up or down )

+10 points for correct trade position

- AS PER NFL RULES, COMPENSATORY PICKS CAN BE TRADED!

- Undrafted Free Agents

Pick 5 UDFAs

+3 points for each correct player

+1 point if you pick a player during the draft and we sign him as a free agent ... Also, if you pick a player as an UDFA and we take him during the draft, you also get 1 point ...

OK, let's get to it:

Cut and Paste this and fill it out and mark any predicted trade with an *...

1.10 -
2.41 -
3.71 -
4.125 (from Houston) -
5.148 -
5.156 (from Minnesota) -
6.182 -
7.237 (from Houston) -

1.10 - Devin Bush, LB, Michigan
2.41 - Dalton Risner, OG, KSU
3.71 - Kahale Warring, TE, San Diego State
4.125 (from Houston) - Ryan Finley, QB, NC State
5.148 - Charles Omenihu, DE, Texas
5.156 (from Minnesota) - Penny Hart, WR, Georgia State
6.182 - Chris Boyd, CB, Texas
7.237 (from Houston) - Drew Lewis, LB, Colorado

I'm positive that there will be a minimum of one trade. But I can't project the poor trade value we would get from an Elway trade ;), so I left the order alone.

I want a recount

I had the same draft but predicted a trade and I had a few CFAs.

Round 1: OLB Bradley Chubb (5th overall)
Round 2: WR Courtland Sutton (40th overall)
Round 3: RB Royce Freeman (71st overall)
Round 3: CB Isaac Yiadom (99th overall)
Round 4: LB Josey Jewell (106th overall)
Round 4: WR DaeSean Hamilton (113th overall)
Round 5: TE Troy Fumagalli (Trade with Seahawks 156th overall)
Round 6: OG Sam Jones (183rd overall)
Round 6: LB Keishawn Bierria (217th overall)
Round 7: RB David Williams (Trade with Seahawks 226th overall)\

Also I think Denver will sign this CFAs

  • Phillip Lindsay, RB, Colorado.
  • Trey Marshall, S, Florida State.
  • Jeff Holland, OLB, Auburn.
  • Jimmy Williams, WR, ECU.
  • Lowell Lotulolei, DT, Utah.
  • Austin Schlottmann, OG, TCU.
  • Leon Johnson, OL, Temple.
  • John Diarse WR, TCU.

I also predict this Lindsay kid will be the surprise of the entire NFL.

Good work, OCG. I see you are also a Packers fan. Maybe we should start a Broncos/Packers club. ;)

Of course I can’t guarantee lifetime support of Green Bay!

Well Gents, we all know Flacco is just a stop gap guy and they ( Denver ) sees him as just a functional Qb with a solid D ( SB 50 scenario ) that just might pull rabbit out of hat this year but let's be honest, odds are they could very well win 4 or 5 games this year. Therefore, I think Denver stock piles draft picks to go after Clemson and Alabama Qbs in 2020 and hopefully get their franchise Qb. This year's Qbs look a lot more " Miss " than " Hit " compared to next year's class. I say Denver trades down minimum 2 times in first 3 rds.

Sweet- Two Justin Simmons in Denver. This one might be a reach. Was he a walk on with no stats? ;)

No Clemson QB draft eligible in 2020 worth taking in my opinion.

I thought he redshirted, then last year was his freshman year. So after this upcoming season, he would be a RS So and be 3 years removed from college and this, be eligible.

I've been hearing the Skins are very high on Haskins and will be trying to trade up to get him. I think if they really like him, they will be trying to get a lot higher than 10 to get him.

You thought wrong. Lawrence went straight from HS to national champion. He was one of the most highly ranked high school recruit in recruiting history. I don’t think red shirting was an option. ;)
