Don’t mess with league, derr commisar has proven his heavy-handed punishments.

Hard to believe Watson and his legal team are going for the all or nothing on this.

They will pull off a quick win if appeal is processed and then bank it all on him shining through? Unlikely, any court will up the punishment. Stupid move, imo.

I'll agree that it likely doesn't rise to the role of DV, but the arbiter did say that the CBA was broken with his actions - taking that, and then considering the amount of women involved, and using the past as a guide - that is where I come in at 12-17 games.

But, I think that's when you know you are reaching the middle ground - when both sides start to understand each others side, and move towards an agreement, even if not 100%.

:suds:

And I would have considered a season reasonable had the arbiter decided that.

Not really even sure it's all Watson's call. NFLPA probably wants to fight it for the next one in this situation.
And his legal team, they are pushing the envelope too far. That usually does not work.

If the NFL wants money this is smart, IF they keep this tied up in court long enough he plays this year. And next yr, it is 45 times the amount of missed games checks money!

You are funny, betting on a full exoneration of his behavior. Not happening, this will only get worse for Watson. See ya soon to serve you your plate of crow.

umm I think you misunderstood what I said. I think this is a smart move by NFL. It only does get worse if he sues, money spent on lawyers, the delay almost guarantees it does not get resolved until next season, which like i said is 6 or more games of 45 million a yr instead of 1 million

I'd be ok with the NFL not having a conduct policy and not doing anything to Watson. I'm ok with the NFL having a conduct policy and holding players, (and owners), up to a standard expected by the public, with Draconian penalties if need be. What the NFL can't do is have a conduct policy to protect women and then apply weak-ass punishments to players that breach said policy.

Maybe I did misunderstand. But the penalty will be greater as time goes on. This is one of the issues where you need to save face, cut your losses and get on with it. Accept your transgressions and move on. Cannot see the benefit in prolonging the issue.

Take your lumps Watson and and prove you are elite. It seems he wants to avoid games and get ROI in the ridiculous contract Browns gave him. See: The Texans.

This line of thinking assumes the Browns won't convert $45M of Watson's 2023 salary into a signing bonus.

I do question if his lack of public remorse is directed.

I guess I hope it is.

Him saying he had no regrets was pretty cringey

The NFL wants to ignore another woman and appoints a man as the new judge to review her work...

Cute. There are many women in powerful jobs.

The Watson case affects first the women involved. NFL was clear from the outset. Now they question the reaction?

And Goodell is a vindictive bastage, you think he would not get the browns and watson at some point?

By lying? Hell, if making it up as you go you really need to do better. Be more creative.

Dance, puppet.
Can you find anything new princess?

Everyone is a liar.

Everyone is scared to answer questions.

Everyone moves goal posts and deflects except you.

You are precious.

Oh the irony.

Got to love this forum.

Keep posting I need the exercise.
