Rams 12-4
Hawks 10-6
Niners 9-7
Cards 6-10

If the Hawks stumble then 7-9 and possibly a top 10 draft pick

I like to wait until after pre-season week 3 to make season predictions. We don't even really know who's on the team yet.

I do think things won't work out as smoothly/easily for the Rams as most expect. They are still likely to win the division and have the best roster, but the football gods are going to throw them a curveball or 2 along the way. I don't know if Suh has suited up for a game yet (saw him on the sideline in street clothes yesterday). Aaron Donald is still a no-show. It's not easy to throw a bunch of new players together in 1 off-season and have it work right out of the box. Philly tried that a few years ago with the "dream team" and it backfired big time. I also think teams are going to play them a little differently this year -- load up on Gurley and make Goff do more to win games.

If Earl plays I could see the team be around 9-7'ish again. Our defense wont be as good with no Chancellor/Sherman/Richardson, but our run game looks much stronger with some changes to the blocking (Dickson/Dissly/Fluker) and Carson+Penny, so that should give our offense more sustain. Graham we lose an end zone threat, but he seemed to disappear whenever we were outside the opponents 20-30 yard line, so whatever.

That said, we gotta fix right tackle. Ifedi has not improved with a new scene of OL coaching. He was getting ROASTED last night and Chargers only had 1/2 their D-Line starters in. He has ZERO footwork. He just kind of fades back, and then plants himself. Was really telling when we had a player (didn't catch who, but it was FB/TE/something) over on the right side to help Ifedi block Ingram... The FB/TE gets a chip block on Ingram as Ifedi drops WAY back, so Ingram slows down, and then accelerates and runs RIGHT around Ifedi who appears to be cemented into the ground. Did not result in a sack (incompletion, bit of an overthrow) but if Wilson had hung on another 0.5-1 second or so, sack for sure.

I don't think anyone's predictions were mocked. But that's what comes with the territory when you put your opinions out in public. You subject them to the comments of others...sorta the whole point.

Rams 6 and 10

First to worst for LA.
I'll take the over, but no way do I see them at 15-1 or some of this other stuff folks are throwing out there.

In another thread someone compared them to that Philly 'dream team' from a number of years back.

Chemistry is a funny thing. But yeah, their talent SHOULD make a losing record tough.

As far as the Hawks go compared to last season I see them being better offensively but not better enough to offset how much worse they will be on defense. I could buy an argument for them to go 8-8 or 9-7 though.

Yeah, that was me. I think it's tough to throw a bunch of guys together and have it work seamlessly out of the box. Plus, you have Donald still holding out and Suh on the sidelines in street clothes. I still like them for the division, but adversity isn't going to be frightened off just because they have the best roster.

A lot of people are picking the Rams to fall back. They could (I'm not sold on Goff what-so-ever), but that's a pretty good overall team that added some big talent. IMO they're the clear frontrunner here. I tend to think the 49ers are the real overrated team in the division. Setting aside the debate over how good Jimmy G is, the rest of that roster is still pretty bad. JG better be the next Tom Brady to meet the expectations on that team.

this division is definitely in transition. the cards and hawks seem to be on the down trend and the rams and niners seem to be on the up trend.

this season, i would guess it might look something like this:

Rams 12-4
49ers 9-7
Hawks 7-9
Cards 6-10
