They won't be able to do it. They can't do a friggin' thing this year and have 22 free agents. All of them are making $%M or less except for Terrell Suggs who was making $8M. Belichick will be able to offer him 5 years and $250M guaranteed and play in the next five AFCCG.

Remember one important thing about Mahomes.

His dad was a pro baseball pitcher. Mahomes grew up with money. He will not be Tom Brady and give the Chiefs a discount especially if his father says to wait and see what the market will give him first. With $122M, BB can offer him a guaranteed 5 year $250M deal and not blink. That's if the cap is set at $196M. IF the league do a big reset and it goes to $203 or 205M Maybe the Chiefs can get into the bidding, but the Patriots could play a brutal game and the biggest winner is Mahomes.

The Chiefs have a 5th year option on Mahomes for 2021 that will obviously be picked up. If they haven’t worked out a long term deal by then, they will franchise him in 2022. And probably again in 2023. Maybe even a third time in 2024.

Put the pipe away. None of the Chiefs FA’s are key players except Chris Jones who they tagged. They have Mahomes under control for at least two more years. They’re not gonna lose a 24 year old franchise QB over a bunch of ham and eggers. Unless he gets hurt enough to diminish his ability, he is not going to see free agency for a very long time.
