Nebraska's current recruiting class is ranked 52nd. Their 2019 class ranked 19th. They've had like 1 or 2 top 10 classes in the entire recruiting era. Anything is possible but Nebraska is going to need to drastically improve their ability to recruit if they plan on winning a title in this era of football.

A Clemson guy I know that runs his own site shared this with me. According to him, on the radio in South Carolina (105.5 The Roar), they asked the question of which 8 different teams they thought would play for the next 10 national titles. He said they had a Rivals.com guy on the show at the time and they all submitted picks.

Radio guy Ben took:
Clemson
Oklahoma
Texas
LSU
Alabama
Oregon
Ohio St
Georgia

Radio guy Brad:
Clemson
Oklahoma
Texas
Ohio St
Alabama
Geogia
Lsu
Auburn

Rivals.com guy:
Georgia
Oklahoma
Ohio St
Clemson
Texas
Notre Dame
Alabama
Nebraska

There's hope out there.

Looks like they expect same ole same ole. Imagination is not among the redeeming qualities.

Exactly what I thought. They're really stepping out on a limb there.

How many of these gutless wanks would have predicted Clemson winning 2 National Titles 10 years ago?

Along with the six teams that were most often mentioned, and the two I added, I think the following teams have a shot at the playoffs in the next 10 years, but only one of them might have a shot at a national title:

Washington
Oregon
Notre Dame
Central Florida

Yeah, probably. I think that they are sleeping on Wisconsin, especially with a 10-year window. Recruiting rankings are moving upwards and combined with how they develop players, they are not far from making the last step.

Gotta recruit QB's and winning big games. They haven't taken that last step for a long time...we have been waiting

I understand that. Last conference championship was 7 years ago. We are solid 2nd tier. I just happen to believe that we are trending up and in the next 10 years should break through to the CFP

Nope. The school right above them on the list.

I understand the joke, I do, but I don't see Notre Dame getting there much less winning it at any point right now. I would sub them out for Florida honestly.

Florida was in my top 8. Notre Dame was among the four other schools that might have a shot. Just not as good a shot as the top 8.

Clemson, Alabama, Ohio St., Georgia, Oklahoma

Notre Dame: They would have been there last year if they didn't play Clemson in the first rd.
Texas A&M: I guess if ya throw enough money at the situation
Florida: You have to think someone from Florida is getting there. Either them or maybe USF

I think it is more of developing a series of QBs. Mertz(incoming freshman) is what I am hanging my hopes on.

Like I said, homer glasses

Interesting that you guys landed Mertz who I believe was around the #3 or so rated high school quarterback. I’m curious to see what he can do and if he’ll pan out.

There's a 10 year window here.

What if Urbs were to go to Notre Dame? That's likely the only school he'd come out of retirement for.

Ok, outside of picking up Urban... I don't see them winning a title in the next 10 years.

Being perfectly honest, ND has never been much of anything since I actually started watching CFB. Probably why I never have thought very highly of them.

Although spotty, with 4 National Titles they've been better than Michigan over the last 50 years.

That's what I thought. How the hell do they ALL have Clemson and Bama on there when UCF has NEVER lost to Bama in all of history. Plus they beat the teams that beat Bama.

It's a mystery....clearly they are not up on their transitive property.
