New Uniforms

I usually hate uniform tweaks - for the merchandize pumping exercise it represents. But - reserving final judgement until I see them on the field - I think these are cool. I like the "Chi" hat that goes with it too.

as usual they find a way to worsen themselves. the font is lousy! does it say southside? or smithside? and the 'chi' on the hat?? geezus! plus the original Sox logo is gone! wtf?
i guess they're better then the blocky red/white/blue atrocities they wear from time to time but these are definitely a step backward.

Meh....the Sox have always been known for being out there when it comes to uniforms. Remember the '77 outfits:



And of course those wonderclothes of '83, which are still worn on occasions to this day:



On both of those unveilings, most fans initially gave out a united UGH!! But eventually they grew on us and to an extent became somewhat of a cult fashion. I expect the same for this '21 version.

They stayed black and white in theme -with contrasting greys. Also - I think "Southside" is a White Sox identifier. Chi brings back the Chisox moniker I kind of grew up with seeing. It's different from the usual Sox associations, but also reckons back to club history in a way.
