Name the 2 pitchers that have won Rookie of the Year, Cy Young, and MVP awards.

Hint: timely

Didn't cheat either. Remember them talking about it Verlander won the AL MVP.

Dude, I knew the answer and I don't even watch American Cricket.

Well that's obviously bullshit unless you just heard it on the news during a report on Newcombe's death

Would have guessed Verlander and Kershaw.

Newcombe isn't surprising, though.

Newcombe was 6-4 and 250, big for a pitcher in 1949. He obviously had amazing skills, comparable in some ways with Jackie Robinson. The Dodgers were committed to finding the best players. Newk was automatic to be a success with his skill set.
I saw him pitch at the end of his career. He had a changeup that seemed like it would literally stop in mid-air.
The guy was also a 270 lifetime hitter.

I would have said Verlander (being a Tiger fan) and Fernando Valenzuela (Rookie, Cy Young and 5th in the MVP - 1981).
I might have guessed Fidrych instead of Verlander, except I knew he wasn't MVP.
