We need depth at TE but I'm not sure Vannett is a lot better than what we could have gotten off the street. Also, are we going to have any picks left come draft time?

Patience is gone for X. Gentry is what he is, but they won’t give up on him or admit defeat yet. Not that they should, just saying Gentry isn’t the answer to the problem.

Move seems a little desperate. 5th round pick is too steep for a player on his final year under contract. And this team is just not good enough to be throwing all these picks out. Minkah was more worth it than this.

IDK much about Vannett's game. The big concern to me is he could be a one yr rental if they don't extend him....that won't be very much to show for the 5th rd pick.

Not high on the pick but not low on it either. We obviously needed the depth. Never had faith in X and thought we should've gotten rid of him during the offseason but, here we are.

Given the health history of Vance, I can't help but think they should've tried a bit harder earlier to get a deal done, but I also wonder why they bothered to keep X at that rate of pay.

Could be a blessing in disguise. X is not a good TE.

Yep...I don't blame JJ for taking the money from DET, but seems like they could've given him the money X got. The 2020 1st pick (2nd rd as of now) TE, OLB, have to be high on the priority list.

Id like to throw O-Line in that group as well. If the goons continue to regress as they have been, it may be time to juice up the talent in that group.

With the draft capital as dim as it looks right now, we may be doing more FA analysis than mock drafting lol.

Yeah, I'd like to see them target TE in the 2nd. Or in FA.

Vance is great when healthy, but that's rare and ooh so fleeting.

It’s almost criminal how much they paid Vance for how many games they’ve had him healthy.

Him being a china doll was well known before they signed him, too.
He'd be a GREAT #2. But if you have to depend on him to be the #1? That's a shame.

Same thing when they signed Ladarius Green. Both made of glass.

Yep...OL is in play too...they will get only 2 picks in the top 100 players thereabouts. Both VMac and X are FAs next season.

The OL is functionally identical to last year. Even Feiler. He started 10 games last year.

The only thing different is Munchak being gone.

Is Sarrett not doing what Munch was doing? Or is Flinchner overruling a less senior position coach on strategy?

My point is, I don't think it's the players that are the problem. Just look at the only thing that really changed year to year.

I'm not ready to say anything is wrong with the OL yet...yeah, they did struggle against, SF, but it wasn't all game long, both OTs got beat a couple of times for quick pressure...overall it wasn't bad, but when you lose everything gets magnified.

I still feel like Sarrett was around Munch long enough to learn how he went about his business, preparation and game day...but again when you 0-3...everything is a problem.
