I think this is fantastic. I think Polanco is primed for a breakout year... Where the kid hit .280 with 20 homeruns and 40 stolen bases. ( 75 walks )

I like it. Lock him up now before it gets too expensive.

This could be a MAJOR bargain for the Bucs.

I wish they could loosen the purse strings enough to lock up Cole for a couple years beyond his pending free agent date.

He's an average player right now, and on the open market, this would be a bargain for an average player, which means we save money we otherwise would have to spend for a complementary piece for years. But the upside is what makes this deal, because there's a good chance Polanco becomes a major part of the core, not just a complementary piece.

Knowing now that there was no chance they Keep McCutchen... Locking up Polanco when they did was an excellent move.
