New Mexico Sante Fe Area

Finishing up my southwest vacation, and on the way to Colorado, I checked out Tent Rocks National Monument, then the Abiquiu area off route 84 north of Santa Fe where artist Georgia O'Keeffe (1887-1986) lived and worked. Rugged area with interesting red hills and rock formations that provided inspiration for the artist.

Anything. It’s at 7,000 feet so outdoor hiking, skiing, bars, restaurants, shopping, museums, etc. Much info at santafe.org

I'm actually heading to Santa Fe for a few days in October. Never stayed, just driven thru so I'm looking forward to it.

When in Santa Fe, try the Coyote Cafe in the historic section on W. Water street. They also have a rooftop cantina. Great menu. On last month’s visit, had chicken Enchiladas with fried egg on top and a brew for lunch. Went bananas at dinner with stuffed quail and then peppered elk with a glass of wine. Expensive for the portions but had to have it.
