saw a rumor that the devils were looking at a deal.

oshie for gelinas and a 2nd rounder.

i like that hes american and thats probably about right for the value that gelinas would bring back right about now.

Love it, low risk high reward move. He has some size which I like, this team is lacking in big bodies.

I wouldn't think twice about that move, no brainer.

Devils should really kick the tires on Brandon Saad in Chicago. He's an RFA so we'd have to cough up some picks but it could be worth it if the price is right and he's available.

do a sign and trade with the hawks. i know thats big in the NBA & i rather that then giving up the picks.

outside of those rfa type deals i really dont see the devils being able to move anyone for anyone. i think management values our defense men either too much or too highly compared to other peoples opinions

I have to be honest, I would absolutely try to go for an offer sheet. Like I would 100% throw a $7 million per year offer at Tarasenko. 1st, 2nd, 3rd for a young, top line forward? Yes please.

Come to think of it, if we were to offer sheet Saad I think Chicago would have a real tough time matching.

The problem with offer sheets is that the player still has to sign them. He has a pretty good thing going in Chicago already.

1st 2nd and a 3rd for vlad? yeah that would be an even trade imo in fact i think we would come out on top. we are all hoping that those picks will be late picks not early and even then who knows if they pan out.

i understand not many people do offer sheets and i get the "code" part of it. honestly though its there for a reason so i don't really see why these things aren't offered more often

I'd do it in a heartbeat, if nothing else it forces another team to pay up and puts pressure on their cap

Assuming the cap is $71 million which is the number that keeps getting thrown around, the Devils will have roughly $23 million to spend with no dire signings to be made.

Gelinas and Larsson are RFA and I can't see Bernier or Gomez commanding much if we were to bring them back. I can't see us spending much more than $6-7 million on all of these guys combined. This leaves us plenty of room to take on a bigger contract if we wanted to. Only Buff, Nashville and Arizona have more money to spend than us.

Come to think of it, that number includes Clowe's cap hit which I believe comes off the books if he retires. His $4.85 million should be enough to lock up Gelinas and Larsson.

Cory Hogdson out of Buffalo? The 25 yr old C is getting or rumored to be bought out by the Sabres...

interest? two years ago he had 20 goals...

I'm entertained since our new HC is one for growing players and elevating them as they praise him for.

day 1 of the off season!

i remember when hodgson got traded everyone thought the canucks were insane. looking at the stats of him and kassian it looks like the canucks won that trade.

i would take a chance on him. like a 1 year deal on the cheap whats the worst that can happen? he is really really young still and look at what richards did hes going to cash in on that 1 year deal with the hawks. same with gomez here.

then again brunner ryder havlat were all "what the heck" signings and look how they turned out
